Siomai




300 grams ground pork
1 small onion finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
1 egg white
1 tbsp cornstarch
2-3 pcs dried mushroom
1tbsp sesame oil
1tsp white pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp oyster sauce

25-30 wanton wrappers

  1. soak the mushroom in hot water to soften (about an hour) chopped finely
  2. mix all the ingredients , just set aside some carrots for the top of the siomai about a tablespoonful will be enough.
  3. place the marinated ing in the ref for an hour
  4. put one tbsp full of meat into the wrapper , with the left hand use pointing finger and thumb to form a ring use the right hant to press the wrapper with meat into the center of the ring , pressing the top and the bottom to get the firm shape of the siomai
  5. put some carrots on top and steam for 10-15 mins
