Beef Stew





700 grams of premium beef shank
3 medium potatoes (peeled cut into cubes)
1 large carrot (peeled cut into cubes)

sauce:
1 onion (diced)
2 cloves of garlic(chopped)
2 slices of ginger
1 red bell pepper (cubes)
1 large tomato (diced)
1/4 cup kikoman soysauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 star anise
1 cup water

2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  1. cut the meat into cubes then blanch in hot water to remove the blood.
  2. in a pot place all ingredients of the sauce , bring to boil then turn the heat to low, add the meat in let it cook for 1 hour then add the vegetables cook for 30 mins more.
  3. when its meat are tender add the cornstarch mix to thicken the sauce.
