Boiled Black Sesame Mochi Balls

2 1/2  cups glutinous rice flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup boiling water

fillings:
2-3 tbsp black sesame powder
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp full of peanut butter

6-8 cups boiling water

  1. mix all the ingredients for filling, set aside.
  2. mix the glutinous flour with sugar and gradually add the boiling water, if 1/2 cup is not enough or too dry , you can add more hot water, but make sure to add a little at a time and mix thoroughly. until you form a smooth dough.
  3. divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll into a ball press using hands or use rolling pin to form a circle thinner on the edge and thicker on the centre, place a teaspoon of filling into the center of the skin dough(press the filling when scooping it so it will not be too crumbly and scattered when sealing the edges.)
  4. after closing the edges try to roll it a bit and place in a plate with flour to prevent from sticking
  5. when all the balls are ready , drop it into boiling water, make sure the water is covering all the balls and an inch higher, let it boil when it is cooked it will float to the surface. around 2-3 mins.
