Bistek - Filipino Beef Steak




1 lb eye round beef
2 large onions
2 lemons
4 tbsp soysauce
1-2 tbsp brown sugar
ground black pepper (optional)
  1. slice the beef thinly
  2. marinate it with lemon juice (remove the seeds), black pepper, soysauce and sugar for at least 30 mins.
  3. slice the onion into rings
  4. stir fry the onions for 1-2 mins remove it from pan and start frying the beef in a lightly greased pan or non-stick pan until it becomes brown place the beef together with the onions, pour the marinate sauce into the pan and let it boil for one minute then pour the beef and onion back to the pan and stir for a minute turn off the heat , serve with rice.
