Asado or Char siu






1 kg pork 
sauce:
1/3 cup soysauce
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp 5 spice
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp fish sauce
1/4 cup banana ketchup 
 1 cup water
2tbsp brown sugar
  1. combine all ingredients in casserole except the pork , bring to boil then turn to low heat add the pork and cook for 1-1.5 hours
  2. if there are still a lot of sauce you can pour the excess sauce into a bowl (you can use it in cooking other dish) and leave about 1/2 -1 cup in the pan with the meat, add the remaining 2 tbsp sugar , and cook until the sauce is caramelized. 
  3. let it cool before slicing the meat.
