Empanada
empanada
3 cups flour
1 cup unsalted butter
5 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
6 tbsp water
mix all the dry ingredients, start adding egg and water a tablespoon at a time
500 grams ground pork
1 small red bell pepper
1small onion
green peas optional
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped potatoes
raisin
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp soysauce
salt
1 beaten egg for brushing the top
cook ground pork and onion then add the rest of the ingredients cook for 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender and the juice/water has reduced but not totally dry. Let it cool
Preheat oven 375F. Divide the dough into 12 or 16(smaller)equal parts. Fill each dough with the filling and seal the edges. Place it on a tray with aluminum foil then brush the top with egg. Bake for 15-20 mins at 375 or 400F depending on oven type.
