Fried Custard






2/3 cup all purpose flour
     (or 1/3 all purpose flour, 1/3 cup custard powder)
1/2 cup sugar (divide to two parts)
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup cornstarch
3 tbsp sugar
3 cups oil for deep frying
  1. beat eggs and 1/4 cup sugar, add 1/3 cup flour and 1 cup milk, mix then add the remaining 1/3 cup flour, stir until mixture resembles cake batter, no lumps of flour but smooth texture, add the remaining cup of milk
  2. cook at medium heat , continue to stir until it thickens and boil (texture should be very thick).  remove from heat and pour into greased pan , let cool and place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  3. slice into diamond shapes , coat with cornstarch and fry with very hot oil for one minute, place in paper towel to drain the oil, when cooled coat it with sugar 1/4 cup, and serve.
