5-6 Large napa cabbage leaves (WASHED)
4 stalk of green onion
3-4 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoon of fishsauce
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp brown sugar
hot red pepper sauce (can be bought in korean stores in plastic box container)
- boil some water enough to cover the napa cabbage
- cut the cabbage into 1.5 inch squares , put the cabbage into the boiling water , turn the heat off, stir the cabbage for 30 seconds to 1 minute, remove from water and let it drain.( vegetable is still crunchy but it is a bit soft, i use this method instead of the traditional way of using alot of salt to drain the water out and ferment it)
- minced the garlic, cut the green onion to half (lengthwise) and then cut into 1 inch long. combine together with fishsauce, sugar , salt and hot red pepper sauce, mix everything together, then pour into the vegetable, mix thoroughly, let it sit for 2 hours then serve.
